LAN (Ethernet) |
On this tab you can choose which LAN connection should be used to establish communication with WolfVision devices and it's also possible to add well known Visualizer entries for the device discovery algorithm to also allow the application to find devices which are outside of the current network the computer is connected to (e.g. Visualizers with a public IP address).
To recall the default settings for this dialog tab, click "Reset settings". The other tabs of the "Preferences" dialog box are not affected.
If you don't want to work with WolfVision devices connected via Ethernet / LAN you can uncheck the box in order to disable the device discovery for Ethernet / LAN Visualizers. This will also speed up the process of detecting all available Visualizers while refreshing the list of connected devices.
For each network interface card (NIC) and WiFi adapter installed on your computer, which is connected to the network, an entry can be found in the list of available connections. Simply select the network connection you want to use for device discovery.
If you do have problems detecting connected WolfVision devices you should verify the IP settings on the Visualizer or Cynap and check if the device can be reached with its IP address from within your web browser. If this doesn't work you may ask your network administrator for advice.
With this option, you can describe connected WolfVision devices for better identifying them.
Select the "Add" button, enter the IP address of the device you want to describe and enter your description (i.e. "my EYE-12", "EYE-12 on roof of WolfVision HQ", "Room B12, Building 201", "Cynap in meeting room", etc.).
All entered devices are listed in the "Known LAN/WAN Devices" box.
With the "Edit" button you can change already added entries. Obsolete entries can be deleted by selecting them and pressing the "Remove" button.
With this option, you can activate the Wake On LAN functionality for the already listed devices.
Add the desired Visualizer or Cynap to the list by using the respective line of the Context menu in the Main Window.
"Clear List" will remove all listed devices and "Remove" only the currently selected one.
